This is an article we published in our newsletter back in 1993 that explains how the commission/listing fee is distributed when selling a home. Grant it the dollars are 1993 dollars but just multiply by 3 for todays figures. Commissions charged at that time ranged anywhere from 4% to 6%. There is no set rate for commissions.
